Aluminothermic Chromium Metal Lump

Aluminothermic Cr Metal Lump - Specification Sheet

Aluminothermic Chromium Metal Lump is produced by blending Chromium oxide, Sodium Dichromate and Aluminium powder together with other reductants/catalysts, loading the mix into a firing vessel, and igniting it. This produces a chemical reaction, resulting in a reduction of the Chromic oxide to pure Chromium metal, and aluminium slag. Aluminothermic Chromium is widely used in the super-alloy industry, specifically in the production of nickel and cobalt based alloys for aerospace, dental and medical applications, and land-based turbines. Furthermore, it is a key element in heat and corrosion resistant specialty alloys.
Bell Metals Ltd has worked with the primary producers of this material in China since its foundation in 1978, and is probably the most significant importer of this product to Europe. The Bell Group has strong links with many of the super-alloy producers world-wide, supplying consistent product for such applications.

Aluminothermic Metal Powder

Aluminothermic Cr Metal Powder - Specification Sheet

Using Aluminothermic Chromium Metal Lump as feedstock material, Bell Metals Ltd's Aluminothermic Chromium Metal Powder is mechanically ground, and has an irregular morphology. It is used for the production of welding consumables, primarily welding electrodes, flux and cored wire, and is also an essential element in the CuCr alloy used in switch-gear production, and for thermal spray applications.
Bell Metals Ltd added aluminothermic Chromium Metal Powder to its list of products in 1999, working with a variety of partners in the production of an extensive range. It is generally sold according to the customer's required specification, rather than to a standard specification.
